Pancakes and Syrup.

nom nom nom.
It's breakfast time!
Unlike sister, brothers breakfast options of what he'll eat are limited. And by limited I mean he's a picky eater who only wants pancakes or waffles. So I've had to get pretty creative with them, especially since waffles and pancakes are pretty much void of real nutrition.
One of the ways I jazz 'em up is I add all sorts of different things to the batter.
For starters I use organic Kamut pancake mix. The flour alone has 32g of whole grain and 6g of protein, and having been a Bisquick aficionado myself, I don't notice much of a difference.
In his favorite recipe I add shredded carrot and zucchini with a dash of cinnamon and vanilla to help mask the healthy taste. I've also substituted maple syrup for local honey, which they say a tsp of honey a day helps with allergies and other ailments.
(fyi when it comes to Houston and allergies, you need all the help you can get)

Most of the time I find myself making 3 different menus for breakfast. I also make sure to give Avy her veggie fix as well since I try not to give her too many carbs. I must take advantage of her righteous path of not being a picky eater and introduce her too several different foods.
(breastfed baby perks) Her breakfast was a baby omelet with spinach and heirloom tomatoes and fresh Mexican cheese crumbles. YUM
